I
t was all change at Wimbledon
last year – not only was there a
British men’s singles champion
at last, courtesy of Andy Murray, but
the communications system used
by The All England Lawn Tennis
Club (AELTC) to help manage The
Championships was brand new, too.
The new radio system supports
The AELTC’s ‘Master Plan’,
which encompasses signi cant
improvements being made to the
buildings and the Grounds over the
coming years.
Andreas Chrysanthou, IT Service
Delivery Manager for The AELTC,
said, “It was time to replace our
existing service with something that
would grow strategically with the
Grounds and would scale accordingly
with the changes that have been
proposed.
“We drafted a brief of the
service we wanted, including the
reach and capability required, and
formed a project board comprising
stakeholders from the relevant
departments who use radios.
“Following a selection process,
we chose Airwave to take the project
forward. We were impressed by
the clarity of their presentation,
we had con dence in the skillset
within Airwave, and the fact that it
is an organisation that can scale
according to our needs.
New radios please!
