Airwave is working with Hereward College in Coventry to expand a successful supported internship programme.
The college, which caters for students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties, is working with local businesses to provide high quality work experience schemes that will help the students find paid employment in the future.
Airwave has inducted its new interns across three departments (IT, Customer Service and IT) and an on-site job coach from Hereward College is now working at the company’s Rugby office.
Ian McCullagh, vice president at Motorola Solutions and Airwave’s managing director, said:
“We are delighted to be working with Hereward College on this initiative. Motorola Solutions is proud to support young people in communities all over the world and we hope our new interns will enjoy working with us and the technology we develop.”
Previous Hereward interns who have joined the supported programme are now moving into full and part-time paid employment.
