A
irwave has won the ‘Resilience in
Infrastructure’ award at the 2013 Business Continuity Awards, for the performance of the Airwave Network in meeting the exacting standards of resilience demanded by the emergency services in providing users with robust and secure communications. “Our customers rely on the Airwave Network and the service we provide to keep them communicating as they deliver their vital public
service. This award recognises our commitment to ensuring an ef cient, informed and rapid response – whatever the scenario,” says John Lewis, Chief Operating Of cer of Airwave.
Airwave has also announced that it has acquired ISO22301 certi cation – the international standard for business continuity management systems (BCMS) – making it one of the rst telecoms companies to transfer its BS25999 certi cation to the new ISO standard.
New look, new focus for CVOC
C
hild Victims of Crime (CVOC), one of Airwave’s supported charities, has become Embrace CVOC with a smart new look and website that has been designed to encourage people to get involved and help the cause.
It is an exciting time for the charity, celebrating its 20th year of working with the Police to take away the hurt of young victims of crime.
There is a lot of competition between charities for hard-earned money so it is vital we are able to communicate what we’re about and to update our story. We’ve kept the red heart of our old logo transforming it into an uplifting heart-shaped balloon. Our new catchline reects what we do - ‘Mending Hearts, Minds and Families’.
It’s a timely overhaul because we are also developing the ways in which we help young victims of crime. Many of those we help have been traumatised, needing emotional support to cope with, and make sense of, their feelings. We’re responding by introducing counselling as part of our range of services. We’ve been humbled by the support of Airwave and, with continuing help, will be able to reach many more innocent young victims of crime making a positive difference to them and their families.
