The Police service utilises a number of talk groups that provide interoperability between themselves and other services, organisations and agencies. Collectively these talk groups are known as the ‘National Fleetmap’. The Incident Management and Mutual Aid talk group sets ensure commonality and consistency of approach when working with other emergency services, partnership organisations or responder agencies within force boundaries, regionally and also nationally. also enables a co-ordinated response to any national level major event or disaster. The EA’s national eetmap incorporates talk groups, created for the use of teams within a speci ed region. These talk groups are available to all EA Airwave radios within a pre-de ned region, and this is replicated across the EA regions. Two talk groups were created for each region, for cross-region collaboration. The use of these is co-ordinated by the Local Radio Terminal Custodian in that region.

In addition, four national talk groups were created for national response scenarios, one of which is shared with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to allow for cross border mutual aid/ working. Its use is co-ordinated through the National Radio Terminal Custodian.

A separate national eetmap was then developed by Airwave for the EA. This allows for all regional areas to use the Airwave Service locally within teams, regionally and nationally across teams, and also nationally with regards to interoperability with other organisations/agencies who are users of the Airwave Service. This National Fleetmap allows for EA mutual aid to be provided to any region as required, and
