Airwave can enhance the core Airwave service experience by providing a range of coverage solutions.  These enhanced solutions are known as Special Coverage Services. 

Special coverage enables customers to access the Airwave service in areas where existing hand portable or vehicle coverage does not provide the level of coverage required by the customer – typically in-building penetration.  Examples of locations requiring special coverage include road and rail tunnels, stadia, shopping centres, public buildings, underground or multi storey car parks and buildings that radio signals would have difficulty penetrating. 

Guaranteed coverage can only be provided in these areas by the purchase of special coverage.

The technical solutions to provide special coverage may be varied and dissimilar to those providing national Airwave coverage; in most cases they will be designed to provide hand-portable coverage, however, the customer may have non-standard requirements and these will be met where feasible. 

Airwave offers a choice of special coverage solutions that will cover the varied customer requirements; each solution has a differing level of technical specification and testing.

Special Coverage Lite

Special Coverage Lite has been designed for customers who require coverage at non-mission critical sites.  This product offers a value for money service wrap compared to the existing special coverage products.

The special coverage lite service is aimed at customers who have already obtained permissions at their own building or a building they lease for installation within one or two small adjacent rooms.
