TV interference
Considerable care is taken in the planning of services to ensure that services in adjacent spectrum do not result in mutual interference. However despite this, the avoidance of interference is also ultimately dependent on the use of aerial systems with good, but readily attainable, performance.
In the case of television reception, as more services are introduced in adjacent spectrum, it is ever more important that domestic aerial systems conform to a good technical standard. The guidance of Ofcom, which is responsible for managing radio spectrum use, is that it is the responsibility of those using domestic receivers to ensure that their aerial installation perform to an adequate standard if the creation of interference to television reception is to be avoided.
The Ofcom document ‘Television Interference Involving TETRA Radio Communication Systems’ offers good advice to householders and aerial installers on the steps needed to achieve interference-free broadcast reception.
If you experience any kind of interference you should contact Ofcom in the first instance.
