The Cabinet Office has recently created Telecommunications Sub-Groups (TSG) within each Local Resilience Forum (LRF) area as an integral part of its Resilient Telecommunications Strategy. The groups are tasked with developing plans to enhance resilient communications. Draft plans must be in place by September 2008 and will cover all forms of communications, including privileged communications schemes such as Airwave.
To assist you when developing the Airwave section of your plan, we have created a guide to Airwave for use by each TSG. This guide is split into two sections, with the first part providing an overview designed to assist if you are not familiar with Airwave. The second part provides more depth, helping you to consider the types of calls you can make across Airwave and when each are most suitable, use of talkgroups and standard voice procedure.
Further information on the TSGs is available on the Cabinet Office website at http://www.ukresilience.gov.uk/preparedness/resilient_telecommunications/stakeholder.aspx
